Visit of Mrs Nisha Agrawal at MSP Public School
In the Red Letter Day for MSP Public School at Junadih, We have
the privilege to welcome the First Lady, Mrs Nisha Agrawal, wife
of Mr. Suresh Agrawal( MD ), on her maiden visit at the MSP school.
A short welcome ceremony was organized by the students of the school
which started with welcome song, presentation of bouquet by most
studious student of class III, Ms Pooja Patel, introduction of all
teachers and briefing by Mr D. J. Basu. Madam was joined by MD Sir and President-Works, Mr B K Singh along
with other Officials of MSP in their visit to the construction site of the School building.

Report on MSPL Regarding Water Consumtion
During the past one or two decades, industries in and around the township area mushroomed like anything who are
inadequately & excessively exploiting the ground and surface water that too without requisite permission from the
government. The only two industries who have the mandatory permission of using ground or surface water are MSP
Steel & Power Ltd., Jamgaon and Jindal Industries & Power Ltd., Patrapali.

Republic Day Celebration at MSP Unit, Raigarh
63rd Republic Day function was
celebrated on January26, 2012 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Mr Suresh Agrawal
( MD ) on his visit to the Unit has been kind enough to offer
himself to attend the program and hoist the National Flag. He even
handed over the prizes to the winners and runner-up team of the
Inter-Department Volleyball Tournament which was held recently in the
Plant.The first three position holders of the Internal Trainers were
also rewarded by him. He also rewarded few Security personnel for
their contribution in the work.

There is a buzz in the market that MSP Steel & Power is looking to raise about Rs 80 crore through qualified
institutional placement ( QIP) at a premium to the market price. After surging 10% on Monday, the stock gained
further ground to touch an intra-day high of Rs 60.8 in early morning trade on Tuesday.

MSP Steel & Power set to gain from aggressive capex
Kolkata-based MSP Steel and Power (MSP) has lined up an aggressive capital expenditure of Rs 800 crore for the three years ending FY 12 to increase capacities of sponge iron, pellets, power and to reduce its cost of production.
The company’s financial performance in the September 2010 quarter was promising as it doubled its net profit compared with the yearago quarter.

Kolkata-based MSP Steel and Power is a part of the MSP Group. With a 60% return over the past one year, the company’s stock has,outperformed the Sensex which has returned 17% during the period.
Going forward, the company is poised to benefit from a capital expenditure of around `800 crore aimed at increasing its capacities of pellets and sponge iron. This will be substantiated by increased capacity utilisation from its existing plants.

Q: There is a buzz which is doing the rounds of an impending steel price hike very soon. Is that something MSP Steel is considering?
A: Steel price has been slightly stable for the past two or three weeks. As the monsoon season is getting over, we are looking at upswing in the steel prices. Most of the primary steel producers are already talking about increase in prices. Our prices are also being slowly inching upwards. Probably from September onwards we are looking at slightly better realization in terms of prices of steel.
Q: In a percentage term could you quantify that if a steel price hike does take place what would it be?
A: Should be anything between 5% to 7%, not much more.

MSP Steel and Power Ltd of Kolkata has drawn up a Rs 388 crore expansion plan that is divided into two parts. The first project envisages setting up a 350-million tpa sponge iron plant, an 18-mw captive power plant, a 3.83-lakh tpa coal washery and a 1.86-lakh sqft colony (Rs 233 crore) and the second project entails setting up a 30-mw power plant (Rs 149.50 crore).
